The fishing season on the Stryn River lasts from 15th June to 15th August. Salmon may be fished throughout the season, and sea trout start their run on the river towards the end of July.
The fishing regulation are determined every year by the Stryn River Owners’ Association.
The Lysvoll beat on the south side of the river extends from the lake down to Sætre, a distance of approx. 3 km. On the north side it extends from the lake down to the Stauri Bridge, approx. 2 km. Most of the beat is fished exclusively by Lysvoll, but parts of the upper and lower beat are shared with others. The fishing in some of the shared pools is regulated while in others there is free fishing from both banks.
Lysvoll has between 15 and 30 fishing pools, depending on the time of the season and the water level on the river.
