Lysvoll was built in 1892 for English anglers who came to Stryn to fish for salmon. Earlier they stayed at the hotel in Stryn, or at farms along the river. At the farms there was not much room for the them, and the hotel was far away from the best pools. Therefore, the Englishmen wanted their own place to stay, and Lysvoll was built for these English anglers. For more than one hundre years Lysvoll was used only by anglers, and today it is still mainly used by people who come to fish in the Stryn river.

Lysvoll has five double and two single bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dining room, livingroom and a kitchen. In the basement there is plenty of room for changing and drying clothes.

Surrounding the house is a big garden bordering on the river.

In addition to the main buliding, there is an annex with two double bedrooms each with seperate bathrooms.
